Dinefwr Castle has been the seat of Lord Dinefwr since his family first acquired the site through Roderick the Great in the 9th century. Today a picturesque 18th-century landscaped park surrounds Newton House, which was 17th-century but now has a Victorian Gothic facade. The ground floor and basement have been restored and are now open.
The Victorian garden at the back of the house is now also being restored It overlooks the ancient deer park, which houses fallow deer and the famous Dinefwr White Park cattle.
There are magnificent views over the Towy Valley and a walk through through the Bog Wood.
There is some access to the privately owned walled garden, as well as access to Dinefwr Castle which dates from the 17th century
