Skenfrith, nr Abergavenny,Monmouthshire, Wales
6 miles north west of Monmouth , Skenfrith was the smallest of three castles built in this area by the Normans, to guard the borders against Welsh raids. A rectangular castle, with a drum tower at each corner, and a circular keep inside
The keep now stands guard over on the remains of the motte,and curtain wall and towers has also survived, just until now.
