Bishop William Morgan was the first person to translate the bible into the Welsh language. Ty Mawr was the house that he was born in. It is in the very charming, secluded Wybrnant valley, about 3 miles south of Btews-y-Coed
The house has been restored by the National Trust to the time the future Bishop lived there. Naturally ther eis also a display of Welsh bibles.
Around the house there are walks through the traditionally managed fields
Open 2 April to 29 Sep on Thurs to Sun from 12 to 5, and in Oct and Nov on Thurs, Fri and Sun only.
